LAST NIGHT WAS ....

....quilt group meeting in Sandbach, this was the night of the chopkey demonstration..

all the ladies made one xx makes me so happy when folks have a go xx .. makes all the preparation worth while xx

I took an item with me to Show-and-tell x Do you remember I gave you a sneaky peek of what I was working on..

WELL.. it is the first 6 blocks of the Classic-Meets-Modern  block of the month organised by Erin .. ( www.sewathomemummy.com ) ..

.....and decided that if we were mixing things up and putting a modern spin on them .... I would NOT make a quilt ..OR .. a conventional wall hanging .. BUT I would make a ..

BANNER x I used a cheap fabric .. bought at the Malvern show .. for the back piece..

the two pieces are only connected at the top block ... I hand quilted and embellished the top piece..

I have to tell you I had SUCH fun with this .... I will have to think how I can mix up the next 6 months worth of blocks xx

When I opened my front door at 07.30 this morning THIS..

is what greeted me!! I thought they were coming through the door! They are going to change my gas meter to-day .. hope they know HOW!!!! lol

You always make me laugh and I needed one today with that truck out front of your door. I love the banner and the chop key. I love that you get your projects done. I am off to start finishing my projects - you have inspired me.

Hope I don't see your street going into orbit on tonight's news!! :o) Those chopkeys look cute.. I've never seen one before. I live a sheltered life. Great use of some of your blocks.. they are lovely.. so is your banner.

(Blooming iPad thinks it knows better). I'd meant to say...
Did you have to use the digger to get out of the house? I like the chop key blocks, might have to have a go at that.

Were you allowed out? Or were you expected to stay put until they finished their digging?

Chopkey looks interesting and different..
