TORCH RELAY...

...we stood at the end of the road

the rain came down

but we stayed where we were

the police came past....LOTS of them

then the buses

and the the touch

he was FAST

the rain was cold .. but hey.. we wont see it again (the torch that is not the rain!!)

the kids loved it .. there were speeches out side the Municipal buildings and there is to be a show of sorts outside the Railway station (we are a Railway town after all!)
I'm smiling after my little contact with the torch

THE OLYMPIC TOURCH RELAY...

...passes the end of my street tomorrow morning, I do not know how many people will be there... the road is closed between 07.00 and 09.30.. will have to see if I can get some pictures xx

HOWEVER for today the BLUE theme continues, this wall hanging...

it was made from bits and pieces..

I was seeing how many different ways I could embellish the same shape..
I also added beads to the border fabric..

Just to brighten it up you understand xx... I even remembered to add a label.

TODAY....

...I thought I would keep the flowers theme going, with a bit of BLUE thrown in.

I made this quilt from 2 Block-Of-The-Month projects...

one was from Congleton quilt group...

the other was a shop bought project....

I knew it had been a while ago... BUT I was surprised when I looked at the label..

and here we go getting ready for the NEXT olympics!!

the back is BLUE as well...

Of course I am NOT sharing the greenfly, and the slugs and snails!! AND leaving the (very) prolific weeds out as well !! lol xx

BLUE

today I thought I would share some BLUE... we have had some of this the last few days..

how wonderful to have BLUE skies, and warm weather xx

This little house was made a couple of years ago, as part of Sandbach quilt group Block-Of-The-Month....

I would not mind living in a little house that looks like this x

This wall hanging was a spur of the moment make...

I was just using up scraps..

it hangs at the top of the stairs... and makes me smile each time I pass it.... just shows what can be done with scraps xx

THIS IS MY ATTEMPT...

.... to post a tutorial of how to do Congleton quilt group mystery make xx Here goes

You start with 2 squares... any size as long as they are square... these are 12.5 ins

place right side together... and put on top of square of wadding (same size)

sew round leaving gap to turn through

cut off corners

turn and sew up gap top stitch all round edge

fold into triangle

measure and mark 1/4 of way in (this came out at 16 ins so 4 inches in from each edge)

sew

turn the corners over and make a bag

turn down the top edges

you can turn inside out and not have so much of a contrast

add a button to close

Ta-Da!! you can make them ANY size as long as you start with a square

Have fun
