I THOUGHT ABOUT ..
... what to do with the few hexagons that were left over... (see yesterdays post x)..
they are to make a present for an elderly lady..
who had a sister who made hexagons...
who I don't know!
SO .... the thinking cap woke me up this morning... and I knew what I was to make ...
just hope the committee ... and the lady herself .. like it

YESTERDAY WAS...
.. a lovely sunny day here in Cheshire xx We started the day in Hobby Craft.... I was dragged in by my mother... honestly!! She wanted some Arron wool... and it was on offer... this stencil set ..
jumped into my hands, they will be great for quilting on a child's quilt, or for applique xx
Then, we went to a local garden centre... only bought compost this time xx Can get the pots and baskets ready though x Mum bought plants as well... she has planted them already as well xx Lovely cup of tea and toasted tea cake went down very nicely xx
THEN ... I taught my Celtic session x I had a wonderful time x I had been warned that they can be a tough lot and may not all want to join in ... however they ALL joined in and had a go ...I was SO happy x At the end I was given these...
they are sat on my kitchen window sill xx ALSO, this morning the lady who runs the class rang and asked if I would like to go back later in the year as the ladies had reported they were happy with me and the session xx YA xx
Last night was quilt group in Congleton, it was exhibition planning night ... so lots of hot air!! We have made a couple of raffle quilts ... this one ..
with maple leaf blocks .. it has been long arm quilted and is single bed size x
The group was given a HUGE bag of hexagons ... all made by one person, when she died her sister donated them to us . We all took turns sewing them together .... seemed like for MONTHS .. this a double bed size..
we have another one (single bed size) that is being quilted at the moment ... there were just a few hexagons left and it was suggested that "someone" be found who would put them together as a gift to the lady who donated them... Guess who was "talked into " doing it ...
oh well! ... I can make ANYHING I want to xx Thinking cap on x
In a couple of weeks we are off to The British Quilt Championship in Malvern...
I have my ticket to get in and...... somehow ....I have been landed the job of making sure all those on the list for the Sandbach pickup are there!! HOW on earth do I get myself into these things xx
Lastly the Christmas Block-Of-The-Month was launched ... and I got some fabric ... that was on offer for the sky..
just need a couple more hours in my day.. any one got a couple to spare?

I LIVE...
... in a big old Victorian terraced house... which means BIG walls and HIGH ceilings .....YES lots of room to hang quilts x and, lots of nooks and crannies and alcoves and sticky out bits ... nightmare when decorating! I have been eyeing up a long narrow space in my bedroom and thinking.... "I really must make SOMETHING to go in that space"
WELL, yesterday I received a wonderfully squishy parcel from Melbourne... Australia. It is my table runner from Anna xx
AS SOON as I saw it I KNEW where it was going to be used ... NOT on the table it was originally destined for ... BUT... (I bet you guessed the next bit!!)... on the wall in my bed room..
It FITS perfectly...
and the colours are just right. Anna got it Soooo right .. and she did not even know xx
I am Soooo addicted to swaps ... you get such wonderful surprise packages x

YESTERDAY...
... I worked on my Stash-Bee blocks , I had fun making the 2 blocks requested by Candace for Hive #4..
she wanted log cabin ... scrappy with lots of floral and leaves in the fabric chosen.. blocks. They were easy and done in no time at all x
THEN I worked on the block requested by Rachel for Hive #3. This was NOT fun, it was NOT made quickly ... and the seam ripper and I were both worn out by the time it was finished!!!!!!!!....
the best thing I can say about it ... is that it is DONE ....and I am NOT going back there again! It is a shame because this is the last block for Hive #3 ,and it would have been nice to finish on a high xx Never mind... there are other swaps out there to join in with ... OH! I am SO addicted to swaps xx

I GOT TO WORK...
....yesterday and made my blocks for Julianne, she is my partner this month for the Christmas-Block-Swap, she wanted stars....and yes that has an "S" on the end xx She asked if I minded making 2... that's OK because I will get 2 back xx SO.. she wanted one in modern fabrics..
and one in sparkly fabric..
think I managed to fulfil the brief there xx
This pretty little quilt flew in yesterday from New York ..
it is my Dream-of-spring quilt from the swap organised by Michelle at The Quilting Gallery. I was trying for an artistic shot here!! Just ended up with a shadow!! Still you can see our lovely sunshine xx.....
will stick to using the old bench at the top of the garden xx While I was out there I found a few brave flowers poking their heads above the parapet..
MAY WELL have a garden this year... fingers crossed x

WE HAVE SUNSHINE .....
... so welcome after dull days with lots of cloud, NO rain though xx We have not had rain for a while ... and this time last year the same was the case... the weather men started talking about drought... AND... it rained for SIX MONTHS!! Hope they keep their mouths SHUT!!!! lol x
I have been making little bags..
they WERE to be used for the tombola at the Congleton Quilt show in July....
HOWEVER the girls at work ( NOT ALL of ...) who have little daughters have gone MAD for them ...
SO I have been making them and taking them in..
and the pot of money for the Show .. is GROWING xx...
I'm NOT complaining...
JUST have to make some more for the tombola! What else would I have to do?... He-He xx
