... that I had the chance to be a patten tester? Well I made my test blocks .. and turned them into a bag... and I made my blocks .. and sewed them to-gether into a top ... now I usually avoid any block that requires lots of points to be (NOT) matched up.. because I am NOT good at doing the matching x There again I am not a perfectionist ... and I don't mind un matched points .. even chopped off points don't worry me xx
GOOD JOB!! Because there was a fair old few chopped off points xx lol xx... HEY that's what embellishments are for ... covering up is their job!!
I do .. occasionally .. push myself out of my comfort zone xx the kicking and screaming can be painful... but .. Hey-Ho xx
I allso got fed up and did not complete the border as it was on the pattern but went for MY version... want to see what I did ?

....quilt group in Congleton, it was "speaker night" ... and what a great night it was too x We had a lady called Katie Chaplin from www.japancrafts.co.uk . She talked about her passion ... Japan... and what a passion it is for her x
She showed us how to dress "dolly" in a traditional kimono..
and answered ALL our questions without batting an eyelid x I will not be wearing that costume ... EVER! So much work and effort! Did look spectacular though x
There was fabric to buy also ... I was VERY good and did not spend! I know! BUT really I have SO much already and while I do like it I can say I don't really LOVE it

.. in my gloriously sunny back garden at the moment xx wow! have to take full advantage of the sun while it is here xx Mind you .. being of the English rose type complexion I need shade and cream to prevent me being a tomato!! Wonderful to have some heat at last x
Yesterday I was out eating AGAIN!! It was Caroline's (Sons partner) birthday on Saturday ... so we went out for dinner yummmy.. and then back to theirs for ..... CAKE xx OH YES!

ALL gone x And this is Adam's cake ..
it is his birthday on Friday but we will not be all to-gether xx so HAD to eat it yesterday xx
My mum has been busy knitting ... and so Adam and the boys all have new cardigans...
they look like the Arron family!! nice and warm though xx
This morning I was busy making swap blocks This is my Australian Christmas swap block for Janet..
and my Scrap Bee blocks for Sandra...
they will be in the post to-morrow .... ah! bit more sun for me I think, have to make sure the old legs do not get burnt though .. may just have to go and get a towel. xx

We had a Do-Your-Own-Thing day with Beartown (Congleton) quilt group. I love these days ... lots of opportunity to see what every one else is doing.. and tea and biscuits ... and the chance to catch up xx
To-day we also had sunshine ... and a wedding in the church opposite to keep us distracted xxx

we had FOOD and laughter...
and FOOD , the company was great..
and we had FOOD ... what more is there to say?..
We went to Panama Hattys ... which may give you a clue as to the type of food we had! (www.panama-hattys.co.uk ) if there is one near you I FULLY reccomend them .. we went to the Tarporley/Spurstow one which is about 20 min drive from here xx.. DUCK for me xx
Do you remember I had some fabric from Congleton to make a bag for the exhibition?.... well I made a big bag...
and 3 small bags ..
I KNOW there are only 2 pictured ... I sold one to one of our Drs at work ... I was adding the beads and she fell in love with it ...SALE xx
I have my mate Sue coming for tea to night ... YES more food xx lol .. so off to check out the cupboards to see what I have to feed her with !! ... may just sneak in a bit of sewing before she gets here xx
