Today WAS sunny... SEE me washing the car was NOT a jinx !!
I was in and out all morning, then this afternoon I decided I wanted a quick sew......so I started at 3pm (gardeners question time xx) to quilt one of the baby panels I got at the recent Quilters Guild Regional day.... by the time PM came on (5 PM) I was here...
I decided to use the wavy line setting on my machine... and I WILL use it again xx
I used the fleece I got on Monday for the back..
I just have to sew in a few ends and hand sew down the binding on the back and it will be done xx
Not bad for a couple of hours works xx
Tomorrow I am away all day at a workshop with Liz Wall.. will tell you all about it tomorrow x

I'V BEEN TAGGED
NOT I hasten to add by the police !! xx
The "tag" was passed onto me from Rachel at www.mammafairysews.blogspot.com
Now the idea is to answer the 11 (!!) questions, then find 11 more questions to ask 11 people!!
Well, I don't want to be a party pooper but it is going to take me all my time "just" to answer the questions .... never mind the rest of it..SO, if you want to be tagged just leave a message and I will gladly chase you down and post my questions xx
Here goes with my answers... hope its not too boring... please don't feel you have to read any of it xx
1.If you could live in any country in the world, where would it be, and why?
I would live here in England, the climate suits me and although I moan at times I do like it here in Cheshire x
2.What started you sewing?
I first sewed at school (my family are knitters), my GCSE teacher said I was hopeless and should never sew anything!! SO, I sewed ... to prove her wrong..for my daughter when she was young, and I have sort of sewn ever since. I took to patchwork etc "properly" about 14 years ago.
3.did you ever feel like never doing it again? Why?
I sometimes get a bit despondent when it doesn't work... however it never lasts long xx
4.which gizmo has made your life truly easier?
in sewing the Internet. (for so many reasons x). in life I think again the Internet (keeps me in touch with Sally and she does not seem so far away)
5.what do you do for a living?
I am a nurse (39 years this year) I run the Surgical Admissions unit at night
6.what treat would you not give up?
this is hard... I think going to the theatre
7.what book made you cry the most?
don't really cry much... I LOVE Gone with the wind.. and have read it many times
8.Favourite flower?
this is tough depends on so many things... I think sweet Williams
9.when did you last over eat and why?
I think last time we (night girls) went out for an Indian meal.. it was SOO wonderful and tasty.. and you cannot leave it on the plate... can you?
10.what is the most romantic thing that has happened to you?
This is tough, having been a single mum for over 30 years , since my husband wandered onto pastures new my life has not had much romance in it xx
11.what age would you have liked to have stayed and why?
I love the way perceptions and attitudes change as we get older, therefore I don't want to stay at any age but keep ageing and changing.xx
WHAT? still here? well done x
Hope that wasn't too boring

3 THINGS
To day is beautiful, its crisp and cool with GLORIOUS sunshine, so, the first thing I did was potter in the garden
I brushed and pulled up weeds and generally enjoyed the sunshine ....
and "others" did too..
The second thing I did was finish off this months challenge. The colour is YELLOW
so lots of squares were cut out (more bugs you notice x). Then I fused letters to many coloured squares... 2 the same each time...
next, I cut up lots of those bits of wadding (batting) you get when you trim quilts... and then can not throw away, but don't know what to do with either!
THEN I sewed them together (OK ,not all today... they are pretty BORING to do... so over the last couple of weeks a few at a time!!)and now....
I have a game... for spelling, matching up, learning the alphabet... any number of uses AND there has to be a bag to keep them in ...more YELLOW ..
Now the theme was Easter... SO I cheated... and spelt it out!!
AND THE THIRD THING?... sit down if you are of a nervous disposition.... I washed the car!!

A FINISH
To-day I finished this weeks new York Beauty, as usual I have made it into a cushion..
I was not sure it was going to work... it was NOT lying down!! SO, by using one of the fancy stitches on my machine it was TAMED!...
This is week 3 .... and we made block no 1!! Believe me ...you are not as confused as I am!! The sun was not co-operating with my picture taking here...lol
Also today I joined this weeks hexagons for the Congleton (Beartown) group quilt, maybe next time I will bring home 2 sets xx

New York Beauty
After my day off yesterday I thought I had better sort my self out today !!
I managed the boring housework bit ... then I started work on the latest New York Beauty block, I have enough of the white to do 2 more cushions... so I decided to go with this and then rethink it when I have used it up.... how-come my stash NEVER seems to get any less no matter how much I use? lol
This is my latest block...
I am also (sort of) sticking with the rainbow colour scheme.....
tomorrow I will be thinking about how to quilt it......

HOW DID YOU......
........spend your day? I WAS going to do housework, nip into town to do a bit of shopping... generally do boring stuff... with a bit of sewing after all was finished....
as you may have guessed THAT IS NOT WHAT I DID IN THE END!!
What I did do was....
put the dogs in the car, collected the parents and headed into Wales.... we went to Prestatyn (North Wales) for dinner!
this was my mums "small" portion.... mine and my dads portions were somewhat bigger!! ALL were eaten..dogs got NOTHING!!
On the way we did have a slight detour..
I got ...this fabric (there is about 2 meters... cost me £2.50!!)
this wonderful rick-rack..sorry it is blurry!
AND this fleece
The day was wonderful....we had sunshine, and some wind
YES there ARE 2 dogs there....somewhere
NOW this is how my companions are spending the evening!
SHH don't tell... I have had a little snooze too the snoring is pretty LOUD!!

SUNDAY
To-day being Sunday it is the first day of the week ...AND the first day of .....my holiday! Whoooo Hoooo! AH! Its a lovely thought.. and when I got up the sun was shining and it was lovely... the weather is celebrating with me xx lol
I went to have dinner with mum and dad, and, when I came home I was pottering in the garden. I love the spring, esp when all the buds start coming out and there is a promise of good things to come in the air.
The dogs were out there with me... of course xx
SO, I thought I will take a picture of them to put onto my blog.
Gus... mr poser.. was no problem..
this is a "classic" Gus pose with tongue sticking out!
THEN it came time for Sam to have his picture taken..
attempt no 2 was not much better!
this was the best I got for today..
he is just on the GO all the time ( wish I had that much energy x)
