JUNE...

... is my birthday month .. and I have some wonderful friends who helped me make it a month long celebration xx

Here are just some of the ways they helped me extend it...

I ALSO had 3 meals out with different groups of friends .. too busy eating to take pictures xx lol x

SO.....

... as well as playing with and learning to use the new laptop ... WHAT have I been doing? Well..... after my session with the foundation piecing at Sandbach Quilt Group I had really good feedback. x One block has become a cushion....

..some of the ladies are going to make their blocks into a Linus quilt...

.....LOTS of smiley faces ... and converts to foundation piecing ..

....some were working on the block at the last meeting xx We had a tutorial for a sewing notions keeper .. mine has been cut out and is going to be sewn next week xx ... because I am finally feeling like I want to sew again xx 

I finished the MANY coloured shawl...

AND THEN.. continued with the MANIC colours and made... 

I am now calming down (!) and have a beautiful semi-solid on the needles..

It has been POURING with rain recently which is doing the gardens good .. but the dogs.. well Gus mostly .. are NOT happy xx lol x

I think I am getting the hang of this again x

KNOWING.....

...... that you have to DO something... doesn't necessarily mean that you WANT to do it!!

I have taken the BIG bite from the bullet ..... and have a new laptop xx

Some things are the same .... somethings are different... its a learning curve when you have the latest technology!!.. let me tell you!

THERE HAS....

... not been any sewing done this week in my corner of Cheshire. NOT because I haven't had time .. it has been busy ..but ..somehow I just didn't feel I wanted to .. I'm sure you know that feeling that comes over us all at times x

I went to the hospital in Manchester with my mum ... not the news we were hoping to hear .. there is still treatment available.....  however they will need to speak to the cardiologist before they can proceed in any way x... We "JUST" have to wait now x

The weather has been a bit variable but mostly sunny here .. we seem to have avoided the awful flooding and thunder storms that have been present in the South and East ... no complaints from me xx lol x   

I have been doing some knitting .. I don't seem to have lost the need to be doing "something" that involves creativity xx  This one is a new one ..to me .. another knit-on-border .. which I have to admit is becoming a favourite technique of mine ...

I am currently working on another project.. that is using wool that is THE TOTAL OPPOSITE from what I usually use!!.. You know when you see something and it just CALLS to you .. you don't know why.. but it has to be...

There is no inspiration from my garden this week .. BUT .. mum and dad wanted some fresh air so after dinner we had a walk in our local park ...

Hope its a good week for you .. we have 3 Drs appointments to get to this next week .. 2 for mum 1 for dad .. so no time to be bored x lol x

GOOD MORNING....

... from a very wet Cheshire x .... well it is summer ..and we did have 2 weeks of sunshine x lol x

Saturday was Do-Your-Own-Thing day with Congleton Quilt group .. I had an "urge" to do some hand sewing so ...

I have had a request for a project with these fabrics.. no rush .. so watch this space xx

Saturday was also WORLD WIDE KNIT IN PUBLIC DAY.. there were 2 of us who brought along knitting on Saturday SO.. we clamed this..

... as our effort on the day x lol x The project I was working on is now finished...  

I would take it out side to photograph .. but seeing as it has already been washed and blocked I don't want to get it wet again !

The word for this week in the 2016 Word-Photo-Challenge is BLACK... mm there has been such sad news from Florida recently it is enough to make anyone feel BLACK.. so although it does not exactly mention black it is my way of trying to make sense of the sadness...

The garden is a bit battered at the moment .. however your colour from this week comes from the roses....

I wish there was a way to share the wonderful smell they give off ... especially when it has been raining x

ANOTHER...

... week has flown by .. and its time for the Word-Photo-Challenge. The word for this week is DIRECTORY..... mm . these used to be at least 3 times bigger than they are now... a sign of the times as more people have i-phones and don't have land lines to go into the directory .....

I taught the session for Sandbach Quilt Group on Thursday night , and with the demonstration block I made .. I made  a little draw string bag..

the session seemed to go well .. and all the ladies joined in x

I was reversed into by a PERSON (male) this last week...

I was NOT amused!!!!.. Hey-Ho no one was hurt so its OK

It is my birthday month and we went out yesterday for dinner then back to my sons for cake...

I forgot to take one with the candles ... may have been a bit BRIGHT with so many!!!!!!!!!!! lol xx

I have continued with my knitting adventures ...

this is a half circle .. first one... and is knitted in LACE.. 2 ply weight.. oh my goodness that's THIN xx  VERY happy with it x
