I MANAGED TO DECIDE...

.. that I WILL be putting a border onto my hand pieced top...

with that in mind I have been choosing and cutting fabric .. results so far are ....

YES got some more PINK in there!! lol x

I know I have said it before .. but, I DO like hand work .. esp in the evenings when I can snuggle in front of the fire and put on some music or a dvd and just go for it x ... mind you there does tend to be competition from snoring dogs .. but that's a small price xx

AND .....I DON'T get half way down a LOOOOONGGG seam and find out I have somehow flipped the fabric and am sewing the front to the back!!! THEN when that is remedied sew THE WHOLE thing .... only to discover the ..evil, maddddd. sadistic... machine had UNTHREADED itself .. at the very beginning !! THEN sew the whole D££&&++***D thing again ... only to discover the bobbin ran out .. near the beginning!!!! GGGRRRRR rrraaannntttt.. MAD? .. not me!! SHOUTING ... who me?

AHH! sticking to hand work to-day xx

I will remain CALM!!

Diane xx

Sigh..... I've had days like that too.
Your top looks great, looking forward to seeing the border progressing.

I love hand work too, hence the GMFG quilts.

No, I haven't given in yet on the new quilt but I've nearly finished the last row on the old quilt so it won't be long now!

I like the top block pattern. I look forward to seeing the border. Do you need a new seam riper?

Hand sewing is so therapeutic. Fortunately my machine tells me if the bobbin runs out or the needle is unthreaded - doesn't make me a cuppa though. It also doesn't tell me when I have sewn the wrong sides together!

Keep calm and start again?

I'll just modify Benta's comment and say...
Keep Calm
and
Carry On
:-)

Oh I've done the same on occasion however, I feel that my "words" would have been far more naughty than yours!

The quilt top is lovely and the border has great potential. Really looking forward to seeing it all together.

Enjoy your hand stitching. The snoring is comforting in it's own way too. xxx

Even when you sew by hand, things can get switched. Probably the hand-sewing is easier to un-sew.

My goodness, you sound just like me about moda fabrics!!:):)

Never mind, the quilt looks fabulous, and I'm sure your borders will work out just fine....

I can do hand sewing when I have to but it's not my favorite. Although it's lovely it's just too slow. No patience me, that's the problem.

Love the colours in the quilt and can't wait to check out that border.

very nice work on that quilt top! I too love to have a hand sewn thing to do :) all winter long I love to have a quilt in the works that I am hand quilting on. Also, I am very intrigued to see what you do with this border! the cut pieces look like Dresden pieces?? I just love a pieced border too!
