LAST NIGHT....

.... was Congleton Quilt group.. it was a Making night.. there were about 40 ladies and TWO machines ... SO .. I brought mine home and had a go this morning .... BECAUSE .. I can now walk to my sewing machine with no hindrance!! lol x.. don't you love a bit of boasting xx

It is a little pouch for ... sewing notions.. pills... ANYTHING you like really xx....

its a bit rough.. but for a first try I am quite happy... I am sure there will be more in my future x

I am sure you remember me moaning and whining on about garter stitch.. and not liking it! SO .. of course.. I have been looking for patterns to force me to have a go xx lol x ...SO ...the FREE downloads on Ravelry are my friends now xx This is my latest ...

YES I know there is a lot of lace .. well it does reduce the amount of garter stitch !! xx He-He x

As usual I was down to the last bit by the time I had finished x

The colour is called.. THE LADY HERSELF.. which is a Discworld reference to one of my favourite characters.... Granny Weatherwax ... I HAD TO USE IT even though there is a LOT of pink in there x

As you all know I had the dreaded lurgy recently .. well yesterday this ..

....arrived on my doorstep from Sue (www.kiwikidspage.blogspot.com )it cheered me up no end to have a bit of Australian sun and fun to look at xx ... its over my sewing machine x

Hope you all had something to make you smile to-day xx

Beautiful shawl Diane, wonderful colour and love the lace....you are so clever at these. The pouch looks great from here...great idea for a sales table I would think. Glad that little bit of sunshine arrived!! I think we have your rain and dismal here today but with the added touch of humidity!!!! Xx

Pretty pouch Diane, great postcard too! A new baby boy born to some close friends (their 11th!) made me smile today, his Granny is a quilter so I've been knitting but more on that later. Lol

Lovely post with lots of super makes. I hope you won't mind if I have a go making those pouches, they look so handy for travelling.
I never made it to the Sandbach sale as we had a workshop at Maureen's and had got the dates mixed up.
We did go to Standfast and Barracks in Lancaster (sells bargain Liberty fabric) as they reopened after being under 4 foot of water before Christmas. Spent too much but got all I need for a wedding quilt for one of my daughters..... and more!
hope you are getting back to A1, keep smiling

what a brilliant little pouch! Ideal for all sorts of things.
Love your shawl, must have another lok at Ravelry for patterns, you seem to find all the good ones!
Hope you are feeling better!

Do you knit in your sleep??? How do you manage to create so many lovely items in such a seemingly short amount of time? The shawl is beautiful and I chuckled over your use of the garter stitch. Cute little bag too!--Terry

So THAT'S how you cover the ends of the bags! Great pouch, and well done on the knitting - gosh that was close!

I love the shawl and that it's a reference to Granny Weatherwax. My favourite character is Nanny Ogg, she's a woman I can really relate to xx
