I HAVE DECIDED THAT.....

....I am not going to feel guilty about buying fabric....BECAUSE... when I retire I wont be able to afford to buy so much . SO ....I have to buy it NOW while I CAN afford it!!  SEE... it make sense!

I can feel the silence as you all digest this simple idea... and the slowly nodding heads as you all see how LOGICAL and SENSIBLE this idea is xx

I am off to look at fabric sights xx

Before I go however I will show you what I did this evening..

ALL squared up... I just need to cut out 128 2.5 inch squares... then sew the blocks together.. getting there xx

Keep smiling

Diane xx

Hummm... I think that's called rationalizing...but I'm cool with that...sounds good to me, I like your attitute!

Oh JUST 128 little squares is THAT all, piece of cake!

I totally agree with you. That is my rationale as well :)

You make an excellent point! I agree and will try not to feel so guilty as I add to my own fabric stash!

What a brilliant point! I am 30 odd years from retirement, does that mean I can buy, guilt free for 30 years? YAY!

Diane, I was cheering from the moment I started reading ... no need to digest your great plan...get moving, you've got a few years now to catch up on when you thopught it wasn't such a good plan to buy xxx

I have rarely regretted buying fabric! As quilters it's our palette - it's a must! Have fun with your triangles - looking good!

I am in total agreement with your philosophy. Good job that retirement is still 150 years away, so you have time to build a small stash!

quilt cartoon I saw recently -
husband of a quilter wanted his ashes scattered at the fabric shop as that way he knew his wife would visit him.....

Any excuse you can come up with.....

Well I Am Retired and I can't afford fabric like I used to buy. If you have a great retirement it may be different. While you have alot more time to sew, you have alot less money and much less fabric. YOU GO GIRL, BUY THAT FABRIC!!

My Mum is retired and has a large stash. She hasn't made it through hers yet. Now if she stayed home and didn't travel so much she might have the stash finished?
