... was quilt group in Sandbach. We had a speaker ....
...who is a Primary school teacher here in Cheshire. She gave us an inspirational talk about how the teachers are attempting to incorporate crafts into the school year and showed us examples of the childrens work..
she also talked about the school they are linked to in Kenya and the MANY differences between the two areas... and brought quilts /wall hangings made by the children in the 2 (very different ) schools.....
She was an excellent speaker , and our ladies very much appreciated her talk.. and contributed a HUGE pile of fabric, wool, buttons, ribbons ,crochet hooks , needles (knitting and sewing) and many other items all to be used in the school x
The latest fundraising idea was launched...
......much to the delight of our ladies xx... I had more samples but I sold them x

... and the pattern for the block with circles is STILL sat looking at me!! ... I have made the miniature blocks for July...
and I found lots of bits and made a tiger ..
and I found a little outfit when I was out shopping ..
I played around with some wool and made a waistcoat..
AND STILL .. the fabric and the pattern for the block with circles is looking at me !! sigh.. I must get motivated!! lol x

THEN a parcel from Jo arrived xx ... She sent a BIG pile of stuff for the charity table..
AND a present for me..
this is wonderful .. the more I look in the pockets the more I find xx AND .. my July block..
THEN it was quilt group in Congleton .. and it was PARTY night .. this is the last meeting before the summer break .. and we had a raffle .. I won a prize..

.. was a lovely day for D0-Your-Own-Thing .. lots of catching up with gossip and drinking tea and seeing what other people were doing xx lol x I managed a few more items for the September sales table...
Then on Sunday I added to the toy box.. this time with a farmyard animal..
I'll forgive anyone who does not recognise it as a PIG!! lol x Sally wants them in "alternative" colours xx .. and I'm happy to oblige ... makes it more interesting for me x

We have a Do-Your-Own-Thing day tomorrow ...organised by Congleton Quilt group .. and I have put my bags ready to go ... I always take a variety of things to do ... I usually manage a bit of sewing in between the talking ,tea drinking, talking and laughter xx .... LOVE these days x
I printed off the Quiet Play pattern for this month .. its a koala this time .. but am not taking it as I need to CONCENTRATE .. and that just might be a bit difficult xx lol x
Many of you will know that I wage a WAR against snails in my garden... WELL .. I decided to see if I could like them a little better if they were FUN...

....STOP .. saying what I am going to do!!
You may remember I said I had some sewing time today... WELL .. I did have a BIT of time .. but nothing like as much as I thought I would!!
The reason for the LACK is that I had to visit the garage .. unexpectedly!.. because I had not ONE.. oh no who wants to be normal and predictable !!... but TWO nails in my back tyre!!... oh yes x... its a good job I am trying to use stash and not buy fabric as the budget for this month (and mostly next month too) would be ZERO!!...

I did get some sewing in .. I made a bag...
because the giraffe is going to James (grandson in Perth) and needs a home xx..
I was talking to him (James) on Skype ...on Tuesday and he chose the fabric for the bag x
Next year Congleton Quilt group will be having a show .. and a raffle quilt will be needed .. so last week we were given the fabric and pattern. I decided to make a trial block ...and my Christmas block swap partner for this time wanted blue and traditional ... so Pat is getting 2 blocks ...
they will be in the post tomorrow .
Then I made the raffle quilt block..
HOPEFULLY tomorrow I will be able to find the time to sew some more xx Fingers crossed x

..... of days have involved quite a bit of sitting and waiting for whichever parent was at an appointment ... be it Drs or blood tests .. whatever .. SO .. as I could not take my sewing machine!!.. I took along some knitting xx
.... now the hippo (who I LOVE xx) .. has a new friend ..
This is DEFINATLY a rival for the hippo xx lol
they fit to-gether very nicely in the bag ..
xx It is going to be SOOOOOOOOOOO hard to put them in the post xx
Tomorrow afternoon and then hopefully on Friday I will have some time to myself .. oh yes!!.. and I am hoping to get some sewing done x I WILL NOT .. be working on my Brit Bee Swap block!! WHY? Well the envelope came today and the block requested is .. (not a great picture as its a picture of a picture!!!... but she wants TWO circles!!..... in one block!)
OH MY!!!!!! That will be going on the corner of the desk until I screw up some courage!! Watch this space ... in a while xx lol x
