3 POINTS...

....FIRST..... a BIG thank-you to you lovely ladies for cheering me up yesterday xx I was having one of "THOSE" days!! I had a block that was so tight and pointed in the middle it could have been used as a circus tent or a coolies hat (!), one that was flat but somehow only had 10 blades NOT 12 (!)... and one that is best just left !!

SO I stood back.. and answered my own questions...

NO it is not like me to give in .. BUT sometimes you just have to do it ..

NO it was not FUN...

NO-one would die if I didn't make it...

NO I did not want to have another go....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SO... I packed up some fabric, wrote a note.... and went to the Post Office x

The post from yesterday was ..... letting off steam x To-day I can laugh at my-self and my tantrum... and I know you would have enjoyed the pictures (I did not take!) of the disasters I made ! That's life for you xx

SECOND  ....... Last night mum and I went to see Pam Ayres...NO-ONE could be miserable after that x She was well on form..

The venue was Gawsworth Hall, which is a Tudor Manor House about 45 mins drive away from here x.....

The weather was kind , we laughed a lot, the company was good ....this was half time...

and after this it did get a bit cool... and dark, but it was a great evening out xx we had cushions, and lap quilts, and fleeces..so no problems x

THIRD .... We get to say HELLO .. to Doris , who joins us here as a follower at The Cheshire Quilter xx hope you stay a while xx

OH! Also when I came out this morning to take the boys for a walk this beautiful little moth was on my car...

now there is some lacey inspiration xx There is always something to smile at... sometimes we are just TOO close to notice and need that (small) step back xx

(Back to) keep smiling

Diane xx

I think we all have similar days. So happy you had a great time with your MOM on your outing. I think you blog is terrific.

Glad you had such a good time. You are so right, life is far too short to persevere with something that you don't enjoy, especially when there is so much that you do enjoy.
Beautiful moth.

I do that with my free motion. Quilt for half an hour, unpick for an hour!

So glad you had a good evening. Your philosophical approach is a good one to remember next time I have a hissy fit whilst sewing goes wrong on me!

Love that moth, super photo!

Good to hear that Pam Ayres was on form. Maybe she should get back on the telly. I'm sure you're allowed the occasional 'off' day, considering how good your sewing is 99% of the time!

Sounds as if you had a great time despite the block! Pam Ayres is amazing - she just doesn't seem to get any older at all!

Pam Ayres would have been so much fun, I'm sure! And you needed that to recover though we all have those days, we all understand!

It doesn't do any good to cry about IT so you might as well laugh and feel good about IT no matter how bad IT is. Of course I only learned this after many tears and tons of chocolate. I gave up the tears but not the chocolate! Never heard of Pam, so Youtube here I come!

Oh Diane, you and a tantrum just don't seem to fit but you're right, when it won't go and you've tried then give yourself a break and let it go. Well done.

Looking forward to seeing you all in the morning. Betty's has been warned!

xxxxx
