IT HAS BEEN...

.. a funny old couple of weeks here x My mum and dad heard of the deaths of 3 "old " friends .. both in age and in years they have known each other .. then my mums middle brother died.

He had been ill for a while .. but he is the first of her siblings to die ... (they were  ALL  5 in their eighties )... and it hit them all hard.

It has been his funeral to-day , so, a day of mixed emotions.

Mum has had 4 hospital appointments AND .. believe it or not has actually been discharged from one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  YES I did say DISCHARGED!!

She has been for a Pre-operative assessment as well .. so "minor" op to look forwards to now xx.. Hey-Ho ... the fun continues xx lol x

I have not had so much time for me this week ...so no bag ... tomorrow I hope .. I have 5 made so 1 tomorrow will have 6 bags for 6 weeks of the year ... now where did that time go? !!

I have finished a shawl...

.. and started another .. they are good for when sitting in waiting rooms and very portable.

Hope your last couple of weeks have been more settled and productive x

Diane x

Deaths are hard. Hospital visits are hard. I wish you the fortitude to get through them with a happy heart. My mom and dad and my in-laws have all been dead for 5 to 20 years. I have to deal with friends passing now. Love all your shawls. What do you do with them?

Oh dear, it is the age group sadly isn't it! My Mum and Dad used to buy the local paper just to see who had died!!! I hope your Mum and Dad cope with all the ups and downs ok. Love the shawl is a great colour.

So sorry to hear of your family bereavement. January and February always seem to bring sadness and we too have lost a good life long friend (younger than us) and another older friend. It really casts a cloud on life and I am sure your Mum must feel it so much. I hope her health stays stable and her hospital visits go well.
You still manage to shine through with your creativity and your latest shawl is beautiful. I find that it is a handy useful distraction to make a little syringe driver bag and I have a bag of fabric cut ready for them. It also makes me realise that there are people not so lucky, well, happy, healthy etc. than me and I come away from my machine feeling a little better.
Take care,
Jo x

It is a difficult time for your parents and for you too. They are so fortunate that you are able and willing to help them maintain an active life on all levels. You do it with such cheeriness too! What a generous person you are! I love that pink shawl! Your bag can wait. Sending you a hug!

Oh I'm sorry! Bit of a tough time! Mum in law is one of just remaining out of 7 sisters, and the last brother in law died last week, all very sad ☹️️

Always so hard to lose family members, but at least there is one clinic you can now avoid! Well done Mum!
Thinking of you.
