TODAY IS THE DAY....

.... that my youngest grandson goes to Australia x We have had a week of goodbyes ..... and today I contemplated hibernating and descending into a soggy mess x BUT... you know what its like .. the sun decided to shine ... and it has been frosty over night and the air is crisp and breathable ... and the dogs need walking ... and THATS LIFE for you ... you lay plans ... and they change xx

SO.. the dogs are walked .. and going out again later ..... the sun is still shining .. and I'm not that person anyway xx

I finished a cardigan .. FOR ME!!!..and did my best to get some pictures that show the true colour... not happening x ...

it is a lovely purple/blue with flecks of red...

I tried with the light on ... and out side!..

you just have to believe me!! lol x I have recently been seeing clothes with odd buttons ... so I joined in the trend....

......In 1971/72 the UK went from imperial to metric currency and for about 12 months before that the price of goods was shown in BOTH ........ the pattern I used .. (what do you mean that woman is wearing a wig!!).....

.....has BOTH prices ... mmm I think it is time it was used x My mum remembers buying it ... and was going to do it ... one day !... sound familiar! lol x The price was  ONE  SHILLING ... cant get a pattern for one POND now !! ... my grandsons don't even know what a shilling was!... now I feel OLD! Talk about living history xx

.... off to play with some purple fabric now x

ps..... I did (for a fleeting moment!) contemplate housework as a way to keep busy ...... the urge didn't last thank goodness x

Great cardy there Diane! What, is your GS coming here for good?

Purple is extremely difficult to photograph accurately. It has something to do with the color wave lengths. Next time when you try it, also include something yellow and something blue in the photo and the purple may photograph in truer form.

A great cardigan. Glad you've had something to take your mind off the departure.

I love the colour of your cardigan - it is so pretty! I am sure that your grandson will be fine over here - where abouts is he going to live?
You know that if you leave the housework long enough you will find that you don't need to do it at all!!

Lovely sweater!! I like the idea of the odd buttons too. Much better to put your pent up energy into knitting and sewing than housework!
