I WAS EXCITED TO START ...

.. my Hive #4 block for August, I had my new fabric...

and logged on to read the instructions ... when-ever I read "this is a fun and quick block"... my heart begins to sink!! OH NO !! This time I was hoping to be proved wrong.... BUT NO... I have made 2 blocks as requested..

BUT NEVER AGAIN! They were NOT quick, they were NOT easy.. they WERE frustrating and fiddley.... because of the way the corners were attached they created A LOT of waste fabric .. and I NEVER want to make them again . They are going in the post to-day.. and good riddence x

One of the ladies had posted a picture on the blog with the caption .. they are wrong, they are in the post.. I dont care!.. I SO know what she ment xx

On the positive side I have found I like red and white fabric xx

Keep smiling

Cute blocks, maybe you could use those scraps for a mug rug. For me figuring out what to do with the scraps is part of the fun!

They do look good- But I have just made stash bee block that i dislike. The tutorial did not understand grain of fabric, so the corners are on the cross. Shrug, whatever...

End of our hive! how much more have you to go?

They certainly look good but I bet you have some red and white left to make flying geese with :)

At least the blocks are done, you can put them behind you! I've found that there are favourite techniques I'll go back to but some that are tried once and in no hurry to do again.

how strange, if shed used triangles instead of rectangles the look would be almost the same but no waste? never mind, done and posted and off the to-be-tried list!!!

They do look good in those colours, there appears to be movement and at least they challenged you.....though its good that you never have to make more of them!
